2022 Presidents' Scholarship: Lauren Graham
Lauren Graham is the daughter of Deborah Graham, a Prosthetics and Orthotics clinician with Cook Children’s Home Health.
Lauren graduated from Timber Creek High School in 2021 and attends the University of Missouri, where she will be entering her sophomore year of college this fall. Lauren is currently pursuing a degree in Journalism and Strategic Communications as she recognizes how health care relies heavily on the support of the public and the importance of how information is communicated.
Throughout high school, Lauren was active in several organizations including Yearbook, serving as elected Editor-in-Chief. She was also elected as Publishing Manager Editor and News Editor of Timber Creek Talon Newspaper. Her leadership roles continued as Vice President of Student Council.
Lauren believes in the power of storytelling and connection. Growing up, Lauren was deeply inspired by her parents' own remarkable experiences of working in health care. She has since become eager to pursue a career in which she can share the stories of the many children and families navigating and overcoming challenges in their medical journey to potentially help fundraising efforts.
Jillian Warden, a Prosthetics and Orthotics clinician at Cook Children’s who works alongside her mother says, “Lauren was selected as a Junior Volunteer here at Cook Children’s in 2018. During her time she was tasked with creating a highlight reel of the graduating junior volunteers and their different job capacities and future college intention. Lauren put forth a beautiful piece that earned her Junior Volunteer of the Year. She is a prime example of hard work and enthusiasm.”
