2022 Presidents' Scholarship: Madison Josephson

Summary

Madison Josephson is the daughter of Jammie Josephson, a program coordinator with the Center for Children’s Health at Cook Children’s.

MadisonJosephson1As a 2022 graduate of Rockwall High School, Madison plans to attend Oral Robert’s University in the fall, where she will study music therapy. Passionate about music and working with children with special needs, Madison hopes to impact the lives of children and their families by incorporating music into their healing process and mental health practices.

It’s quite fitting Madison desires to pursue music therapy, considering her extensive involvement as a four-year member of Rock Wall High School’s elite A Capella Show Choir. She has earned multiple distinctions through UIL, while also participating in two award-winning acapella groups outside of school where she excels as a section leader and student director.

Madison is in the top 4% of her class, with a 5.025 GPA, and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is fluent in Spanish and has a desire to study abroad one day and remain fluent. Madison is actively involved in serving her community as a student leader at Lakeshore Church guiding small groups and leading future generations through local outreach, missions and church camps.

Michelle Ghormley, an International Baccalaureate Literature Instructor at Rockwell High says, “Madison reminds me through her actions and interactions, to be authentic, to show compassion, and to approach every day with an open mind. A student of her caliber has the ability and ambition to impact the future leadership of her generation.”
