2026 Primary Care and Mental Health Benefits: Upcoming Changes and Enhancements

We want to let you know about a new partnership and change to our current CareATC primary care services.

To better serve employees and their covered families in 2026, Cook Children's is transitioning to a new partnership with Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG). This will replace the current CareATC benefit. 

“As we continue to expand our reach to include our Medical Center - Prosper and other employees who live in or around Fort Worth, we wanted to be sure our next partner had the reach and services that our growing teams need,” Kim Cummings, AVP, Human Resources Operations said.

Texas Health Family Care - Prosper is now open. The facility is a six-to-eight-minute drive east of the Prosper campus at 1970 W. University Drive, #100. 

Employees will find:

1. Reserved appointment times exclusively for Cook Children's and covered family members (18+).

2. Access to over 1,600 primary care visits in 2026 at no cost or low cost.

3. To schedule an appointment at Texas Health Family Care – Prosper, call (469) 329-7878 and mention your work for Cook Children’s or are covered on Cook Children’s Health Plan.

Similar Services with Additional Benefits

Cook Children's and THPG Fort Worth is slated to open in spring 2026. During this time Care ATC Fort Worth will still be available.  

As we continue to expand to the Fort Worth area, we are currently working on:

Locations and hours

• The transition on the existing Henderson Health Center so employees will have continued access
• Adding locations in Prosper, North Fort Worth, and South or Southwest Fort Worth.
• With THPG, all locations will be open full time. 

Dedicated Providers

All existing main campus primary care and mental health providers have been offered roles with THPG.

• Locations other than the main campus will utilize existing THPG primary care clinics for additional provider options.
• All locations will launch with dedicated provider time only accessible to Cook Children's employees and covered family members.

Services

In addition to benefits already mentioned members gain:

• Support from a referral management team.
• Enhanced access to your lab results and medical records.
