Accreditation for Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green Belt Certification Programs

Cook Children’s now has accreditation status with The Council for Six Sigma Certification for the CCHCS Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification programs. A search is underway for an accreditation entity to assess/certify the Lean Practitioner program.

The Process Improvement department has offered three industry certifications to our employees since 2019. The cost for providing this training externally would be $2,000 - $5,000 per certification with a reputable certifying entity.  Independent validation affirms our certification approaches as we take on the operational issues that inhibit excellence and effectiveness, said Shernette R. Kydd, PhD, MBA, Assistant Vice President, System Effectiveness.

The goal is to have embedded certified experts in each department, to work alongside the Process Improvement team, a strategy that can lead to preeminence. A new Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt for Leaders certification program will be piloted later this year. It has been designed to accommodate busy schedules.
