An Introduction To CareATC

When it comes to whole-family health care, we’re all in it together. Every day, Cook Children’s employees work to improve the well-being of every child in our care and our communities.
But we can only take care of others when we take care of ourselves.
To make sure that happens, Cook Children’s has partnered with CareATC to provide an additional benefit to help care for health care professionals who have dedicated their lives to taking care of others.
What Is CareATC?
CareATC is a provider of enhanced primary care services that exclusively contracts with large employers like Cook Children’s to provide dedicated shared-site primary care clinics.
CareATC’s providers recognize that our everyday lives are busy, and access to quality primary care is often more expensive and complicated than it should be. With this in mind, CareATC works to provide low or no-cost, high-quality medical care for employees and families.
From annual physicals to unexpected illness, CareATC is available at little to no cost to you!
How It Works
Acute and preventive care visits, including sick visits, age-appropriate physicals, routine gynecological exams, prostate exams, sports physicals and more can be done for free at CareATC for employees and dependents aged 18 and older enrolled in a Cook Children’s medical insurance plan.
In addition to preventive care visits, those who are covered on the Cook Children’s medical plan can visit CareATC for chronic disease management, diagnostic testing, screenings and personal health assessments.
Other significant features include:
- Confidential services.
- Reduced wait times.
- More time to visit with providers.
- No bills after your visit.
- Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) therapist who is currently accepting new clients in the main CareATC clinic.
Even if you are not covered by a Cook Children’s medical plan, you can visit CareATC for non-work-related treatments, such as adult immunizations, upper respiratory infections, sinus infections, colds, flus, minor injuries, skin rashes and gastrointestinal issues.
If you are enrolled in the HRA or EPO plans, any visit to CareATC is free. For those enrolled in the HSA1 and HSA2 plans, the cost for a diagnostic visit is only $10. Employees not enrolled in a Cook Children’s medical plan are still allowed to use these benefits for minor illnesses and injuries for $10 per visit.
Care is provided at five clinics across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The main clinic is located in Fort Worth, just down the street from our medical center, and the others are in North Fort Worth, Arlington, Carrollton and Irving.
