Care Share FY21 Reward

Who: For all positions up through manager

Timing: Reward will appear on your Nov. 12, 2021 paycheck

Plan Effective Date: Oct. 1, 2020

Plan Term: Oct. 1, 2020 – Sept. 30, 2021

Plan Payout Date: Nov. 12, 2021


Productive Hours

(80.01 – 299.59)*

Productive Hours

(300.00 – 1,142.59)*

Exceed CHA average/NCQA CAHPS




*Minimum number of productive hours an employee must work

Other: All payments will be grossed up by 22% to cover Federal income taxes

Day of Thanks (up to 8 hours of PTO based on your FTE)

Who: Everyone who earns PTO will have hours added to their PTO bank

Timing: Nov. 26, 2021 paycheck

WK: Hello everyone! Happy Fall!

Im Wini King, Chief Communications, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Officer.

KH: And Im Keith Holtz, Chief Administrative Officer.

Over the last year and a half, our HR Compensation team has been reviewing salaries in the market and addressing equity concerns.

WK: And most recently, thousands of you completed the Open Arms Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Survey and the Patient Safety & Nursing Excellence Survey and told us your thoughts about salary ranges and pay equity. We want to thank all of you for all that you shared.

KH: Thats right, we've been doing our research, listening and talking to lots of you, and today we have an important update.

I hope you know that over these last 20 months, we've worked really hard to show you how much we care about you and how valuable you are to this organization.

WK: For sure! The $500 Super Hero Bonus, the Well-being day of PTO and the $500 Care Share reward in 2020, along with last months $1,000 Keeping the Promise Bonus are just a few of the ways our leaders have shown you they care.

WK TALK TO KEITH: Now Keith, lets tell them about the meeting you had with Rick Merrill, our President and CEO, and the other senior leaders this week.

KH: Sure, lets do that!

WK TO CAMERA: You can only imagine my face when I first heard what they decided to do and best of all we get to tell you ALL ABOUT IT!

Are you ready? Here goes

This month, all employees (up through manager level across the system) will receive:

Up to a five hundred dollar Care Share reward, and anyone who accrues PTO will be eligible for the Day of Thanks when up to 8 hours of PTO is added to your PTO bank on Nov. 26. Yes, some cash and a day off for fun or rest and relaxation!

KH: Thats right, but thats not all.

Would you believe it if I told you that all of you (up through director level across the system) will receive not 1, not 2 but a 3% pay increase effective Jan. 2, 2022? Yes, across the system for all positions up through director.

WK: Wow! Hooray for that!

KH: And how about this? Merit increases, as determined by your PACE score, will be increased from a maximum of 3% to a maximum of 5% in the calendar year 2022. You heard that right!

And last by not least, market and equity reviews are being conducted for all positions. Half have already been completed and more than 3,000 employees have received a market adjustment, and another half will be reviewed between now and the end of the fiscal year.

WK: I dont know about you, but I was just about dancing when I heard all of this news.

I hope you are excited as I am and I hope you know how much joy it brings our leaders to be able to do this for all of you. You know what? Lets have Mr. Merrill tell you himself.

RWM: Hello Cook Childrens! Wini is right, it means more than you know to be able to do this for you. After everything you have done for Cook Childrens and our families, you absolutely deserve it.

You are important, you matter and you are valued! After all, YOU are Cook Childrens!
