Connect Newsletter
Sept. 29, 2022

A Special Message from Mr. Merrill: Save The Date! 33 Days Until Nov. 1!

Dear Cook Children’s team member,

Mark this on your calendar right now: something big is happening on Nov. 1!

On that day, we’ll come together as a connected system to celebrate something we’ve been hard at work developing over the last few years: our culture platform.

What’s a culture platform? It’s the roadmap we’ll use to make sure our Cook Children’s Promise guides everything we do. As we navigate major changes happening in health care and exciting developments at Cook Children’s, our culture platform will help us hold onto what makes this such a special place for us to work together.

The culture platform emerged from three years of surveys and focus groups with Cook Children’s employees, doctors, patients and families. It’s both a celebration of who we are today, and a North Star to guide our tomorrow.

Take a look at the Culture platform you will find in today's newsletter and don't miss how it all comes together in our culture video and images you will find in this issue.

In the meantime, stay tuned to see how we’ll connect the dots on Nov. 1.

About that Pinky Promise… Our Culture Platform Helps Ensure Our Promise Guides Everything We do

You will be hearing a lot about the Culture Platform in the weeks leading up to and after Nov. 1. Your manager has been provided a “Pinkies Up” toolkit, which acts as a guide to our culture platform.

To make sure you are in the know, we want to take the opportunity to introduce you to our culture platform. Let’s begin with why the platform is so important. (This graphic can also be downloaded at the top right-hand side of this page.)

The Culture Platform

We want to make sure you have the culture platform. We hope this helps truly define who we are and helps to explain to your neighbor, friends or family why we are so proud to be a part of the Cook Children’s family. (This graphic can also be downloaded at the top right-hand side of this page.)
