The Team Behind Two Million Doses of Care
Each year, the Cook Children's pharmacy teams dispense more than two million medication doses, many of them specially prepared for our patients. Behind every dose is a team of more than 200 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working around the clock to help ensure children receive the right medication, at the right dose, at the right time. While medication dispensing is one of the most visible aspects of pharmacy services, their responsibilities extend far beyond filling prescriptions. Our hardworking teams are managing medication procurement, sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication preparation and dispensing, medication history collection and reconciliation, handling medication safety initiatives and bedside medication delivery through the Meds-to-Beds program and more. Read the full story on Connect Newsroom to learn how these behind-the-scenes experts are making a difference for patients, families and care teams every day. |
