Cook Children's - Prosper Celebrates 2nd Birthday

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, Cook Children’s Medical Center - Prosper celebrated its second anniversary since opening. Thank you to every person on our team for your hard work and dedication in making these first two years a resounding success. Our unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care for our patients has remained our guiding principle throughout this journey. We look forward to many more years of serving our community with compassion and excellence.

In just two short years, Cook Children’s – Prosper has cared for thousands of patients and families. Services were significantly expanded to serve our growing patient population, including adding beds to the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical unit, opening a third operating room, expanding our hematology and oncology services, working towards a Trauma designation, expanding ECHO services in house, relocating the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and adding EEG services, ophthalmology, car seat and Safe Sleep technicians. Our first patients joined the Cook Children's Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program. The readers of Living Magazine - Prosper & Celina voted Cook Children’s – Prosper as the Best Hospital and Best Emergency Department.

We celebrated this milestone with two special feasts (for day and night shifts) to show our gratitude for the team's hard work and dedication. A special shout out to DeWayne Pace and the Food & Nutrition Services team who made delicious food stations, including a TexMex station, mashed potato station, pizza and pasta station, and a carving station with ham and turkey. Thank you for your extra care to make this event special!
