CookNet and Teams: What You Need to Know to Get Started

New CookNet Image for ArticleWe would like to take this opportunity to go over a few key definitions and distinctions about the technological upgrades we have recently made and the new, more modern workspace we are introducing for all employees.

We hope by now you have discussed adding your area's content to the new CookNet and moving over to Teams with your department leadership.

If you are still unsure what to request for your department, here are a few key terms:

  • Legacy CookNet: This is the old version of CookNet that we all know so well. It is being phased out to make room for the new CookNet.
  • New CookNet: We are currently populating the new and improved CookNet. It is currently available for you to use! The goal is to rebuild all necessary content from Legacy CookNet to New CookNet. If you need help, please get started here.
  • Extranet and Team Sites: We have talked a lot about the Microsoft Teams application, but we realize this may cause some confusion. For several years our Legacy CookNet included what has been called “Extranet” including Team and Project sections. These Extranet sites are tied to legacy technologies alongside the old CookNet. We plan on rebuilding these Extranet sites as well, if necessary. Please work with your manager to start this process by submitting a request for a new SharePoint and/or Teams workspace by navigating here.

We hope this clears up any confusion. For more information, please visit our FAQ section.
