Dallas Morning News Editorial: "Texas Agency Botched Multibillion Medicaid Bid"

The editorial board of The Dallas Morning News wrote a lengthy editorial on May 9 about the bidding process used by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to award contracts for Medicaid programs. Unfortunately, HHSC plans to exclude the Cook Children's Health Plan from the new STAR/CHIP Managed Care Services Program contract starting in September 2025.

The editorial board wrote that the bidding process was "skewed in favor of one company” and called for the process to start over.
