Employee Appreciation Month: The Return of Cookouts, Baseball and Your Smiling Faces
Throughout May we will be celebrating Employee Appreciation Month across Cook Children's!
The children at Clayton Youth Enrichment created posters for our employees this month. They are pictured above and will be on display across main campus!
Hot dogs, baseball, your favorite T-shirts and smiling faces.
These staples of our lives will never again be taken for granted, but they will always remind us of the importance of normalcy.
We hope you will take some time over the next month to celebrate Employee Appreciation Month across Cook Children’s.
Join us for hamburgers, hot dogs, black bean burgers and more at one of our campus cookouts. Cookouts are taking place at several locations throughout the system. For off-site locations and 100% work-from-home teams, we hope you will find time over the next month to coordinate a team lunch. Learn more about your options by clicking here.
Didn’t get enough hot dogs at the cookout? Come out and enjoy one when the Rangers play the Red Sox at Cook Children’s Night at the Ballpark, which takes place at 7:05 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Globe Life Field.
Plus, we are offering weekly spirit activities and dress-up days during the month, as well as the opportunity to send an eCard to let someone know you appreciate them!
“We’ve been through so much together over the past couple of years. Now here we are, with a chance to spend time with one another, and it’s all thanks to your dedication to our patients, their families and each other. Thank you for all of your hard work, and please know you are truly appreciated,” said Keith Holtz, chief administrative officer at Cook Children’s.
Mr. Holtz added, “I also want to take this opportunity to recognize the Employee Engagement team at Cook Children’s and thank them for all of their hard work in creating events for the entire system.”

Annual Campus Cookout
We are so excited for the return of our Campus Cookout! This year, several locations across the system will hold a cookout. Make sure to mark your calendars for the date of your location! We’re also providing funds for off-site locations and remote teams to plan a celebration lunch – see below for all the details.
Cookout Menu: Hamburgers (gluten free), hot dogs, black bean burgers, chips, fresh fruit, beverages and cookies. Plus gluten free hamburger buns, gluten free Rice Krispies Treats and sugar-free cookies.
Off-site Locations & Work-From-Home Teams:
For off-site locations and 100% work-from-home teams, funds will be provided to coordinate a team lunch. Choose a date and time that works best from May 5 to June 3.
Leaders of these teams will be sent information via email in early May on how to receive and use the $20/per person inter-department transfer for their teams.
No matter where you are in the system, we encourage you to take photos of you and your team enjoying time together in May and send them to us!
Join us for a home run experience at Cook Children's Night at the Ballpark.
Don't miss out on a great evening of baseball and fireworks with your family, friends and coworkers.
