Grant Harris Honored With Inaugural Chief Development Officer of the Year Award
Grant Harris, senior vice president and chief development officer (CDO), received the inaugural Chief Development Officer of the Year Award by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) during its annual conference which took place virtually last week.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a leading nonprofit aimed to protect kids’ health with a network of 170 children’s hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, honored members in the group for their admirable leadership despite many hardships health care professionals faced throughout the past 20 months.
“Amid the ups-and-downs caused by the pandemic, we’d be remiss not to shine a light on the resiliency and perseverance that children’s hospitals and their staff have achieved this past year,” said Teri Nestel, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We’re incredibly proud that these individuals and hospitals are part of our network and work together to ensure all kids grow up stronger, healthier and ready for tomorrow.”
The 2021 CDO of the Year Award is new to the network this year and Harris was selected by the CMN Hospitals national executive team out of more than 170 of his peers at the other member hospitals in North America. He also serves on the CDO Advisory Committee at CMNH and has led multiple projects to be implanted on a national scale revolving around structure, as well as fundraising innovation.
Harris oversees the Cook Children's Health Foundation, which has received nearly $30 million ($29,951,121) in donations through CMN Hospitals campaigns and programs since 1988. In 2020, the Health Foundation saw its highest fundraising year to date, with more than $2.7 million dollars raised!
