In Memoriam: Cook Children's Employees

"Bereavement is a universal and integral part of our experience of love." - C.S. Lewis

The holiday season is known for traditions and togetherness with colleagues, family and friends. Yet it's also when feelings of grief can be heightened or seem overwhelming. (Grief resources and bereavement support can be found at the bottom of this article.)

Please take a moment to honor our Cook Children's team members who passed away this year.

Grief Resources and Bereavement Support

How each person processes the symptoms and reactions to grief varies greatly. Below are several resources if you need support at any time.

  • The Spiritual Care team at Cook Children's has a number of resources to help you through the loss of a loved one. From end-of-life support, how to navigate funeral arrangements and planning, books and literature to help with dealing with grief and more, they are a call away.
  • In this video, Jayme Coffman, M.D., offers great advice to those who are grieving as well as those who want to support someone through the grieving process.
