Jingle Mingle Returns with Eco-Friendly Feast

Jingle Mingle, our holiday celebration for employees, includes a massive buffet of delicious food, and this year, it will be served up using eco-friendly flatware, dinnerware and even catering trays.
The spread of food, along with holiday music and an opportunity to visit with colleagues, is a tradition that has continued for over 20 years. Recently, employees have asked for a more environmentally friendly way to dine. So, in response to that feedback, all products at the Calmont and Medical Center-Fort Worth locations will be fully sustainable and compostable, said JoAnn Williams, Manager and Executive Chef for Catering.
This eco-friendly transition will include:
- Plates
- Cups
- Trays
- Take-out containers
- Forks, spoons, and knives
There will also be bins for everyone to place the compostable material once finished so that it can be composted properly.
“We’re finally getting there, but it really is up to the person with the cup in their hand, or with the container to put it in the proper place. If they don't get placed in the proper containers, it defeats the purpose of being environmentally friendly,” JoAnn said. “But I've ordered all sustainable (items), from the cups to the flatware to the trays that the pastries will be on it will be compostable.”
