Peak Performer: Kim Kimberling
Manager, Population Health, Population Health Management-Health Plan
Kim was a Peak Performer recipient for the fourth quarter of 2021 (July-September). Below is her nomination letter.
Kim became the Manager of the Population Health team at the Health Plan a little over a year ago and has made such an impact during that time. Population Health was a new department at the time. Kim has been involved with multiple initiatives to promote member wellness. For instance, she started up a Population Health Subcommittee and has been successful with gathering data about member populations and how to target those who could benefit from CM services.
Kim is proactive and responsive to communications with her peers, other departments and entities, and with her staff. There is no Supervisor on her team, so she both manages the program and directly supervises her staff, and is very organized. Kim is also warm, approachable, compassionate, and patient, but can also effectively provide constructive criticism when needed. She completes regular 1:1 meetings with her staff and has open communication with them, which enhances their morale. Overall, Kim is a wonderful leader and a strong advocate for her team.
Kim is regularly willing to help others and to take on extra projects when asked, even though she is extremely busy. She stays late when needed to make sure things get done. She always makes sure to include me in important emails or meetings that could benefit my team. She provides backup supervision for my team when I'm on PTO, which is much appreciated! We consistently discuss and collaborate when it comes to efforts related to both of our teams to ensure consistency for staff, which I have found beneficial. She was especially supportive during a recent transition in which we were in between Directors for our department and in between Managers for my team. I don't know what I would do without her!
