Peak Performer: Oludotun "Olu" Peters, NP

nurse practitioner, Psych Clinic

Summary

Olu was a Peak Performer recipient for the third quarter of 2022 (April-June). Below is her nomination letter.

OLUDOTUN P., PMHNP-BC PhotoOludotun “Olu” has been an NP with our department for over two years and recently we have had multiple staff out on PTO/FMLA and Olu has graciously picked up extra shifts to support our team. During difficult times of being short-staffed, she has been extremely flexible with her schedule to support what works best for the team. Olu has taken the initiative to dedicate her time off to be present and work above and beyond what is expected.

Olu has a very unique role in our Psychiatry Department where she is floating in three different areas in the hospital in one single day and she is handling this position very well. It can be really difficult to balance working on thee different Psychiatry service lines in one day and Olu has balanced this role with stride. Olu arrives earlier than expected to pre-round and gets to know the patients before our team makes their rounds. She will make sure to communicate details with all three teams early in the morning before the day begins so everyone is on the same page. Olu has a very empathetic approach when working with families and our patients. When getting to know a patient and their family, she takes her time to genuinely understand their individual needs to offer them the best support possible. It does not go unnoticed and we are very lucky to have Olu as one of our APPs.
