Peak Performer: Amy Arreola
Rehab Pt Service Scheduler, Rehab - Admin
Amy was a Peak Performer recipient for the first quarter of 2022 (October-December). Below is her nomination letter.
Amy is so efficient at her job and is usually one step ahead. She also communicates through Epic all of her processes so that we can identify why a patient might not have been seen. In one particular instance, there was a discrepancy in what a parent was saying about their child's therapy appointments. Amy had provided such clear documentation of her communication with the parent that the therapist and physician had a full understanding of the situation and could follow the timeline of events. Amy continued to work with the staff and parent to ensure the child was scheduled appropriately. We appreciate how dependable Amy is and see how that directly affects the quality of care our patients receive.
When a patient needs to be seen in clinic by a therapist, the therapist reaches out to Amy to have the patient added on. In some instances, the patient's insurance requires prior authorization before they can be seen. Typically, the therapist will not see the patient that day and we will wait to submit for authorization. Amy, however, has gone above and beyond to try to obtain the authorization so that the patient can be seen the same day. In one particular instance, the therapist was anticipating not seeing the patient the same day but before she could let the family know, Amy was already working to obtain the authorization. She contacted a rep with the insurance company and was able to obtain authorization so the patient could be seen the same day. Not only does she go above and beyond to help her co-workers, she also goes above and beyond for our patients to ensure they receive the care they need in a timely manner.
