Peak Performer: Beth Fortner, RN
RN case manager and service coordinator, Star Kids Care Management
Beth was a Peak Performer recipient for the third quarter of 2022 (April-June). Below is her nomination letter.
Beth is currently a member of the STAR Kids Care Management team as a service coordinator where her families and members speak very highly of her ability to assist with their needs. Always going above and beyond, she ensures they are able to manage their health care needs without delays. Recently, Beth worked diligently with one of her families in hopes of locating an appropriate alternative to summer camp when our only in-network provider had to make changes to the program due to staffing concerns. The family appreciated her dedication in trying to find an appropriate alternative and allow the child to safely participate in a camp alternative.
Always looking for new resources, Beth is continuously searching for new opportunities to share with her members. Upon receiving our new Value Added Services, she came up with some concerns in how these services would help our members. She compiled a list of those concerns to present to leadership so that we could work with our Member Services department to make sure the products were of benefit and presented in a way that our members and their families would understand and could use. Until formal documents were available, she sent specifics on these Value Added Services to her members so they were aware of the benefits that Cook Children’s Health Plan provides.
I appreciate her willingness to go the extra step to not only make sure her members are taken care of but also her team by providing similar resources that will affect all Health Plan members and their families.
