Peak Performer: Danielle Eberwein, RN

RN, PICU

Summary

Danielle was a Peak Performer recipient for the second quarter of 2022 (January-March). Below is her nomination letter.

DANIELLE EBERWEIN, BSN, RN, CPN PhotoI received handoff from Danielle on a very difficult set of patients in the PICU.  I was floating from the CICU and she knew the pair was incredibly heavy.  Due to one of the patient's intubated and sedated status, it took us an hour and a half to get through report.  Danielle stayed to help me give PRBC's, PRN's, initiate the use of soft wrist restraints, and increase all sedation drips before moving on to the next patient's handoff report.

Danielle didn't leave until after 0900 the morning of the pair handoff (as mentioned above.) When I finally sat down to chart around 11:30, I quickly realized Danielle had done all my hourly charting through the 0900 hour. This saved me more charting than one would realize. I almost cried with gratefulness and appreciation for her effort and dedication to not only the patients but also to me as a coworker.  I had not previously met Danielle so there was no friend obligation to have stayed and helped as she did. She 100% did it out of the kindness of her heart and her unwavering dedication to this institution.
