Peak Performer: Holly Erwin
Virtual Health Nurse Coordinator, LVN, Telemedicine-PN
Holly was a Peak Performer recipient for the fourth quarter of 2021 (July-September). Below is her nomination letter.
We received the following email from a patient. This patient took it upon herself to take time and brag about how Holly helped her…
“I wanted to write a quick note of gratitude as my baby and I approach another breastfeeding milestone. I made a frantic 4 a.m. appointment when my little one was about 50 hours old back at the end of February. I was certain my baby was starving and as a first-time mom, I was in a complete panic. I had a zoom meeting with Holly Erwin, LVN on the morning of February 26th and I am still touched by this visit to this day. I was struggling with a nipple shield, exhaustion s/p magnesium drip from pre-eclampsia, c-section recovery, and fear.
Holly was patient with me as I struggled to even get my Cook Children's account set up and she provided just the personal touch I needed. I put her tactics to work quickly and felt better about breastfeeding immediately. I worked hard to remember the things she'd shared with me and her consultation gave me confidence that my baby wasn't actually starving so I could focus on achieving our goals. This week my baby will be 7 months old and we are still rocking our breastfeeding journey! I knew I wanted to give breastfeeding my all and I am just amazed that we are well on our way to my next goal of one year. Thank you for saving my breastfeeding journey and giving me the strength to push past the hard days. Today nursing my baby is one of my favorite activities and the peace of mind of knowing that my body continues to nourish my child is invaluable. Your service is invaluable. Thank you for setting my son and I up for success! It means more to me than you know.”
Holly is in a unique role, where she spans being a nurse coordinator, providing training and consultation to staff and providers all throughout the organization. She is also the Lactation Specialist for CCPN, where she is in the provider role herself. Holly is easily one of the most flexible, adaptable people I have ever had the privilege to work with and she does it all with a big smile and an even bigger, sunnier personality. She is a great teammate, often being the voice for the quieter members, and keeps us all on our toes laughing with the latest antics of her four boys. She is someone I aspire to be when I grow up and does an incredible job of balancing her work with her family. For all of these reasons, I believe that Holly is a Peak Performer.
