Peak Performer: Jayna Meyer
Mobile Respirator Mask Fit Tech, Occupational Health- HS
Jayna was a Peak Performer recipient for the fourth quarter of 2021 (July-September). Below is her nomination letter.
Jayna’s work performance is outstanding. She started working in Occupational Health by providing respirator fit testing during the mad rush of the pandemic. Jayna’s work on ensuring that all of our medical staff were properly trained and fit tested for respiratory protection provides a great example of her dedication to the goals of Cook Children's. She quickly took on the very tedious task of using spreadsheets to manually verify that thousands of employees throughout the Cook Children’s Healthcare System received updated fit tests and were trained with information to protect themselves from the disease. Jayna routinely followed up with managers and directors to keep them updated of the progress for their staff throughout the completion of this monumental project.
Jayna is always eager to learn and expand the ways she supports the team. She worked diligently with Clinical Engineering to provide Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) training for all of our medical staff who were required to sit for extended periods with COVID19 patients. Jayna accomplished this through frequent communications with Clinical Engineering to ensure that employees were completely trained and protected during those extended times with patients. She has a natural ability to see what needs to be done and is highly motivated to contribute without ever needing to be asked. Her patience, compassion, kindness, and extraordinary willingness to help anywhere she can with whatever is needed to make her a Peak Performer and deserving of recognition for her efforts.
