Peak Performer: Jessica Lopez

medical assistant, Alliance Urgent Care

Summary

Jessica was a Peak Performer recipient for the second quarter of 2022 (January-March). Below is her nomination letter.

JESSICA LOPEZ, MA PhotoJessica fully embodies the qualities that every manager searches for in an employee. She is self-motivated, hardworking, and always – I repeat, always - has a positive attitude. As in most areas of health care, we have experienced frequent changes at the UCC. While other staff members have been apprehensive and skeptical of change, Jessica always finds the silver lining. Not only this, but she encourages her coworkers to do the same. She handles change with grace, and rather than focusing on the possible negatives, she searches for the positives. Her favorite color is yellow, and I must say it's fitting. Jessica is a ray of sunshine and it's hard to be in a bad mood when she's around. As a manager, you expect to take on the task of supporting and advocating for your staff, but it is a pleasant surprise that Jessica would do the same for me.

Not only does she boost staff morale, but she also provides consistently amazing patient care. Jessica receives frequent “kudos” through our patient feedback portal. Her caring and attentive demeanor helps families feel that they were really heard and listened to. Families feel that Jessica takes her time and doesn’t rush them – and in a setting where moving quickly is part of the job description, that is no small task. To have such a positive impact during the relatively short time spent at our urgent care speaks volumes. Jessica’s “ray of sunshine” attitude truly deserves recognition and appreciation and we are lucky to have her as a member of our team.
