Peak Performer: Kate DeVore, MSW

social worker, Dodson Specialty Clinics

Summary

Kate was a Peak Performer recipient for the second quarter of 2022 (January-March). Below is her nomination letter.

EMILY DEVORE, LMSW PhotoThere are so many reasons why Kate deserves to be nominated for Peak Performer.  Kate leads by example even on hard days. She consistently volunteers to help other team members by covering their areas when they are swamped or she steps up when staff are out unexpectedly. She models appropriate advocacy by balancing the needs of the team with the needs of the organization. For two years in a row, she has volunteered to stay close to the hospital so she can be available during our Inclement Weather activations. Staff report they have become better social workers just by watching Kate in action. She is a team player, approachable, and has a great sense of humor. Kate is constantly recognized by others in our department meetings as well.

I received some feedback on Kate from a Texas Star Kids Rep who called to let me know how amazing Kate is and how beneficial she has been working with a mutual patient of theirs. The caller stated, “She is determined to accomplish goals, she works really hard and communicates really well with BCBS Texas Star Kids.” BCBS continued to express how grateful they are for Kate and their members have expressed their gratitude as well.

Kate prides herself on being professional and collaborative in every interaction despite the circumstances. She represents Cook Children's well and people always walk away with a positive experience after being in her presence. Our department and organization would not be the same without her - this is why Kate a.k.a "Kate the Great" deserves to be a Peak Performer!
