Peak Performer: Mark Onsase

Mark demonstrates exceptional professionalism by his attention to details. He is a great mentor with a passion for teaching. He often serves as a unit guide and impressively so. I have witnessed his calm and approachable disposition with his patients, parents, and team members.

Recently, we started a different type of medical therapy that required a great deal of detail with setting up the equipment and readying it for patient use in a safe manner. He was very patient in helping me navigate through the process. His approach was very organized even with the complexity of the task at hand. I often will seek Mark out for his professional opinion as he carries a wealth of nursing experience

Mark has such a heart for sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He consistently receives great feedback from his orientees on how well he prepares them for nursing in the PICU. He listens well and advocates for them during this important learning process. He is also one that provides excellent care for his patients. His demeanor is one of great kindness and compassion and he is well respected by his peers. Mark is a go-getter and makes himself available to his colleagues - whatever you need, you know you can count on Mark when he’s here.
