Peak Performer: Michelle Velasquez

Michelle Velasquez is a medical assistant in the Prosper medical office building (MOB) focused mainly in the gastrointestinal department but is very savvy with our Epic medical software. Michelle helps with all of our new hires with their Epic and navigation. She does this for both people who have utilized Epic in past and those new to Epic in general. 

Working with leadership, she sets aside block time to provide uninterrupted learning sessions for onboarding new employees who need additional assistance. We are so thankful for her extensive Epic knowledge and background to ensure that our new hires are set up for success. In addition to this, she continually works with leadership to help us understand how we can continue to optimize Epic functions to increase efficiencies for both the Prosper MOB but also our families and patients. This includes, but is not limited to, presenting process improvement opportunities for our patient and family e-check-in process.

Michelle is also bilingual and has been available to help with our Spanish-speaking patients to help answer questions and concerns and goes above and beyond to help these patients. She even volunteered to take the certification required to be a resource for Spanish-speaking patients in our Prosper office, which has helped tremendously. It is obvious that Michelle provides excellence in quality and care in her role.
