Peak Performer: Summer Creech

Summer is a Registered Nurse (RN) Reviewer at Cook Children's Health Plan. Summer primarily processes formula, diaper, and Private Duty Nursing prior authorization requests. She is a top volume producer and her documentation is excellent in supporting her prior authorization determinations. Summer is always willing to help her peers that have questions or help remaining current with their assignment while also providing training to numerous new hires. She has demonstrated exceptional patience and collaboration to ensure new staff are welcomed and knowledgeable.

Cook Children’s Health Plan recently made the operational decision to insource all Behavioral Health (BH) Services. This decision would require the Utilization Management team to now process all BH requests. While Summer does not have direct experience in BH, Summer worked to train new BH staff on the UM process and procedures. Summer has joined the daily BH huddles to provide guidance to new team members. Summer did not have to help with this process, but she is committed to ensuring the UM team functions properly and we are thankful for all that she does.
