Peak Performer: Tori Thompson

Tori is an incredible child life specialist. She is able to immediately assess a room, plan accordingly and intervene to meet the exact needs of her patients and families. Her calm approach easily puts patients and families at ease as she builds rapport and works to normalize the hospital environment through play, preparation, education and support. It is evident that her nursing staff on 4 Main are so grateful for her skills, expertise and caring support.

In a Google review written by the parent of one of her patients, Tori was recognized for her wonderful skills while working with a nervous patient and their parents. While the patient took a walk around the hospital after a long battle with fighting sleep, the patient’s father stayed behind to learn what types of toys their child would thrive with. Tori provided excellent education and understanding of the child’s abilities and when the patient finally felt good enough to begin playing they had hours of fun with the toys selected especially for them.
