Peaks' Treats Grand Opening
Peaks' Treats celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 17. The first 100 people received either a free cookie cake slice, a free scoop of ice cream or a free 16-ounce smoothie.
Former Dallas Cowboys Kenny Grant, Rocket Ismail, Kevin Smith, and Charlie Williams were in attendance to sign autographs and take pictures with our patient families.
Peaks' Treats features three popular eateries: Marble Slabs Creamery, Smoothie Factory + Kitchen, and Great American Cookies, offering a variety of delicious options for patient families, visitors, and employees alike.
Krista Rettig, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC/AC, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Craniofacial, Cleft and Plastic Surgery, wrote this about her positive experience with Great American Cookies:
"I ordered a large cookie cake ahead of my son’s 15th birthday celebration and got busy at work and forgot to pick it up on that Friday afternoon. I called the store after I got home at close to 6 p.m. The person I spoke to was very kind. However, she said they were closed until Monday. I was so disappointed and upset with myself for forgetting to pick it up.
"Charlie called me back about two minutes later and said he would find a way to get it to me. He offered to come to my house or meet me somewhere. We met the following day in Fort Worth.
"He was so kind to take the time to make it happen and it meant the world to me. I offered him money and he refused. He said he knew it was for a birthday and he was going to make sure I had it.
"I texted him after the party to let him know that seven teenage boys devoured it in under an hour. He said knowing they enjoyed it was enough for him."
