Practice Our Promise Gold FY23: Cook Children's Neighborhood Health Center - Arlington

ArlingtonWe’re excited to recognize Cook Children's Neighborhood Health Center Arlington for receiving the Practice Our Promise Gold Award for their FY23 achievement of the highest Likelihood to Recommend (LTR) score for neighborhood health centers. The LTR score represents patient experience and trust, reflecting the confidence our patients place in the care provided by the Neighborhood Health Center staff.

Winning the Practice Our Promise Gold Award highlights the clinic’s high-quality patient experience and the patients’ eagerness to recommend the clinic to others.

Angela Cabarcas, M.D., Associate Medical Director of Neighborhood Clinics, credits the clinic's success to its team-oriented approach. "We have a strong team in Arlington," Dr. Cabarcas said. "They prioritize creating a welcoming environment for all patients, focusing on the small details that contribute significantly to patient satisfaction."

ArlingtonCultural competency is another key factor in the clinic's positive outcomes. "Many of our patients value having three providers who speak Spanish," Dr. Cabarcas explained. "Language fluency and cultural sensitivity are crucial aspects of care, and we believe they contribute to patients' willingness to recommend our clinic."

Cook Children's Neighborhood Centers provide vital healthcare services in areas with limited access to medical resources.

"A strength of our Neighborhood Clinics, including the Arlington location, is our behavioral health program," Dr. Cabarcas said. "Having access to family advocates, community health workers, and social support staff is particularly important in underserved communities within the DFW metroplex."

Maricela Ramos, Practice Administrator, emphasizes the clinic's commitment to patient experience. "Our staff is dedicated to making all patients feel welcome, valued, and heard," Ramos said. "We recognize that some patients may have limited access to technology and information. Our team takes the time to educate and guide them, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed."

ArlingtonPatient-centered care is at the center of everything we do at Cook Children's. Ramos elaborated on how this philosophy translates into daily practice.

"We strive for excellence at Cook Children's because we have a reputation for high-quality care," Ramos said. "Our goal is for every patient to leave our clinic feeling confident and satisfied with the care they received, motivating them to return for future needs."

Cook Children's Neighborhood Health Center Arlington's commitment to patient-centered care is evident in their focus on a welcoming environment, cultural competency, addressing patient needs, and offering a wide range of services. This dedication is reflected in their high LTR score and the trust they have built within the community. As the staff and providers continue to prioritize patient experience, it will undoubtedly remain a valuable resource for families in Arlington.
