Hearts & Heroes Night: Complimentary Volleyball Tickets We are excited to share a special invitation for our staff to attend Hearts & Heroes Night with Dallas Pulse Volleyball! To honor the dedication of healthcare workers, first responders, and military personnel, our team members are being offered two complimentary tickets to the match on at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, April 17, This evening is dedicated to recognizing the heroes in our community with special in-game tributes and activations throughout the concourse. How to Redeem: To claim your seats, scan the QR code on the attached flyer or visit the Hearts and Heroes Tickets link. After selecting your seats and proceeding to checkout, you will see the price of your first two tickets reduced to $0. If you'd like to bring more guests, you will also have the option to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate. Event Details: - Time: 7:00 p.m.

Pinwheels on CampusThe month of April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and here at Cook Children's Health Care System we acknowledge every child deserves a loving childhood. You will notice pinwheels on our Prosper and Fort Worth campuses. These pinwheels are a national symbol for child abuse prevention. Each pinwheel at our campus represents one of the nearly 1,300 cases of abuse reported in Denton County.

Heart of Melissa Spring Street Fair We are excited to add a new event to our spring line up this year to support our north market. The Heart of Melissa Spring Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on April 11 in downtown Melissa. It is hosted by the Melissa Chamber of Commerce. This event brings live music, food vendors, a kids area and more. The event draws 20,000 - 25,000 people annually. If you are available, please volunteer at this fun event! Universal Date for Mask Fits Starting this July, we are transitioning to an annual schedule for respiratory mask fit testing, which will take place every July moving forward.
Here is what this change means for the first year:
- Those that had mask fitting in March 2026 will perform mask fitting in July 2027. If the employee experiences significant weight loss/gain or facial changes, the employee will need to be refitted. The employee will contact Occupational Health Services for instructions.
- Those that are due April-June 2026 will instead perform mask fitting in July 2026.
- Everyone who has a respiratory mask fitting requirement will be completed in the month of July.
- Occupational Health will be at Medical Center-Prosper for July dates: Tuesday through Thursday on July 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 & 23 from 6 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Appointments will open for scheduling starting on May 20.
- OSHA questionnaires must be completed by June 22 so that the Occupational Health Team can review.
- If employee does not obtain a mask fitting at the Medical Center-Prosper, then alternative sites will need to be utilized to meet the requirement but will still maintain the July due date every year. Approved options will be shared with the administration at Prosper. This is mainly for those out on leave and needing a mask fit upon return to work.
- Those who do not complete their mask fitting by Aug. 1 will be subject to corrective action, up to and including suspension or termination.

Volunteers Needed We have some great upcoming injury prevention event opportunities to share with you. If you are looking to get involved or need some volunteer hours, we have options in all focus areas several areas around the North Texas area. If you are bilingual, please let the organizer know, as it helpful in the planning process. Every event listed below will be supported by one or more of our team members. We are so very grateful to our volunteers, as we work to spread awareness and educate families on these important topics. Cook Children's is so pleased to be the Title Sponsor of the Celina Touch-A-Truck Event for 2026. We will have Teddy Bear Transport Ambulance at our booth along with fun giveaways for kids. Bring your kiddos and family out to enjoy this fun, free, family event. We would love to have physicians and staff members volunteer to meet and greet with the community. Celina Cajun Fest - 2–9 p.m.

Cook Children’s is the Kids Zone sponsor and will have a booth. This is a great opportunity to represent Cook Children’s, get volunteer hours or market your practice or services to the community. This will be a busy and fun event and is free for the whole family. Enjoy carnival rides, inflatables, a Gator Show, vendor booths and all the crawfish you can eat. As it gets dark, enjoy live music from the Eli Young Band. |
