Prosper News Update (March, 18, 2026)

Good afternoon Prosper family, 

Happy Spring Break! We hope that you all are loving the decreased traffic related to this school holiday. We started this week in winter and will end in full blown summer! We hope that you stay safe in the spring storms and enjoy the flowers that come! 

We also hope you enjoyed last week's Patient Safety Awareness activities. A quick reminder: registration is open for the Cook Children’s Peer Support Program. Please see the flyer below for details. Hurry to claim your spot, as we can only accommodate 25 participants.

Cook Children's Peer Support Program

The Peer Support Program aims to strengthen a culture of connection, care and emotional well-being among our team. Peer supporters are fellow employees who volunteer to be there when someone needs to talk.

Training for the Peer Support Program will be held from 9 a.m. - noon in classrooms 1621/1622 on March 30. There are 25 spots available.

We have some great upcoming injury prevention event opportunities to share with you. If you are looking to get involved or need some volunteer hours, we have options in all focus areas several areas around the North Texas area. If you are bilingual, please let the organizer know, as it helpful in the planning process. Every event listed below will be supported by one or more of our team members. We are so very grateful to our volunteers, as we work to spread awareness and educate families on these important topics.

New Volunteer Opportunities: Spring Community Events

Spring is here and there are a lot of community events planned for North Texas. These events are a great opportunity for you to market your practice, get some volunteer hours in, and have fun with your family and co-workers. Please sign up at any of the event links below. It takes a lot of volunteers to make these events successful and we appreciate your support! Windsong Easter Eggstravaganza (Prosper)

• 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

We are so excited to partner with Windsong Ranch for their Easter Eggstravaganza Party. This is a great event to promote your practice and get out in the community and meet potential patients. This is a FREE family event, so feel free to bring your family to enjoy the festivities. There'll be an Easter Bunny, food trucks, carnival rides, crafts and more.

Celina Touch-A-Truck Event

Cook Children's is so pleased to be the Title Sponsor of the Celina Touch-A-Truck Event for 2026. We will have Teddy Bear Transport Ambulance at our booth along with fun giveaways for kids. Bring your kiddos and family out to enjoy this fun, free, family event. We would love to have physicians and staff members volunteer to meet and greet with the community.

Celina Cajun Fest

• 2–9 p.m.
• Saturday, May 9 

Cook Children’s is the Kids Zone sponsor and will have a booth. This is a great opportunity to represent Cook Children’s, get volunteer hours or market your practice or services to the community. This will be a busy and fun event and is free for the whole family. Enjoy carnival rides, inflatables, a Gator Show, vendor booths and all the crawfish you can eat. As it gets dark, enjoy live music from the Eli Young Band.

Rounding Up All Former Nurse Residents 

The Nurse Residency team is thrilled to announce its 15-Year Nurse Residency Reunion, celebrating nurse residents from Cohorts 1–44 on April 16, 2026. Former nurse residents, along with one guest, are invited to gather to honor the history, accomplishments, and bright future of the nation’s first accredited pediatric nurse residency program.
