Prosper News Update (March 25, 2026)

Good afternoon Prosper family, 

We hope that you all enjoyed spring break and the sunshine, it looks like spring is in the forecast! There are a couple of things we wanted to call to your attention as we move into April. Next week we will celebrate Doctor’s Day, so when you see your physicians please wish them a great day and let them know that we appreciate them! We will also have a sweet treat for all staff on Monday afternoon, a little token of our appreciation of you and all that you do for our community every day. You will notice pinwheels on the front lawn to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Each pinwheel represents one of the nearly 1,300 cases of abuse reported in Denton County. Also, please follow the Ethics mini-series for information and CEUs.

Employee Parking Reminder

As a friendly reminder, the GREEN areas of the parking map below indicate where employees should be parking.

Please keep the parking spots closest to the buildings available for our patients and families.

Digital Door Signs

When a patient on isolation precautions is temporarily transferred in EPIC (e.g., to MRI, SPA, OR, etc.) and then returned to their room, a new isolation precautions order must be placed to ensure the appropriate PPE symbols display on the door sign. Please be aware of this limitation and ask the provider for a new isolation precautions order, if needed, when the patient returns to their room.

Cook Children's Peer Support Program

The Peer Support Program aims to strengthen a culture of connection, care and emotional well-being among our team. Peer supporters are fellow employees who volunteer to be there when someone needs to talk.

Training for the Peer Support Program will be held from 9 a.m. - noon in classrooms 1621/1622 on March 30. There are 25 spots available.

Spring is here and there are a lot of community events planned for North Texas. We are so excited to partner with Windsong Ranch for their Easter Eggstravaganza Party. This is a great event to promote your practice and get out in the community and meet potential patients. This is a FREE family event, so feel free to bring your family to enjoy the festivities. There'll be an Easter Bunny, food trucks, carnival rides, crafts and more.

Cook Children's is so pleased to be the Title Sponsor of the Celina Touch-A-Truck Event for 2026. We will have Teddy Bear Transport Ambulance at our booth along with fun giveaways for kids. Bring your kiddos and family out to enjoy this fun, free, family event. We would love to have physicians and staff members volunteer to meet and greet with the community.

Celina Cajun Fest

Cook Children’s is the Kids Zone sponsor and will have a booth. This is a great opportunity to represent Cook Children’s, get volunteer hours or market your practice or services to the community. This will be a busy and fun event and is free for the whole family. Enjoy carnival rides, inflatables, a Gator Show, vendor booths and all the crawfish you can eat. As it gets dark, enjoy live music from the Eli Young Band.
