Good afternoon Prosper family, Welcome to fall! We have lots of activities coming this way in this month! See below for our Halloween fun! We continue to see increase in census and more activity in the hospital. Please make sure that your Joint Commission checklists are done each shift and if you see something on the list, please say something so that we can fix it before a surveyor arrives. 🎃 This is Cook Children's Halloween: Time to Start Planning!The spooky season is almost here, and it's time to start preparing for our Prosper Halloween celebration at Cook Children's! We know you're busy, but please take a moment to start planning your costumes (individual and group) and brainstorming those amazing pumpkin decorations. We're looking forward to seeing what spectacular ideas you come up with to bring a smile to our patient's faces! Costume ContestHalloween costumes can be worn on all shifts from Oct. 28 - 31 and must follow dress code (no hats, shorts, masks and no gore or clowns.) The winning categories are : individual most creative costume, individual funniest costume, best small group (up to 5 people,) and best large group (up to 12 people.) Please download and fill out this registration form with your group or individual photo. Email it to ProsperAdminLeadership@cookchildrens.org by midnight on Oct. 31. Winners will be announced the following week. Pumpkin ContestDecorated pumpkins will be due by Oct. 24. Patients and families will vote on 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Patient Halloween EventTeams and departments are invited to participate in celebrating Halloween with our patients with a trick-or-treat and craft event in the Atrium. Donations for Our CommunityCook Children's - Prosper and the Prosper UCC are collecting items to support LovePACS to serve children in need in Prosper, Celina and Gunter. In Week 3 (Oct. 11 - 17), we will accept granola bars and snacks. Thank you for contributing to this great local cause! For Week 4, we will focus on ramen noodles and/or microwave popcorn. ![]() |

Fall Event Volunteers NeededCook Children's will have a presence at many fall events starting in the next few weeks and we need lots of volunteers to make these successful! Saturday, Oct. 18 - Fall Fest (Frisco) Cook Children’s will have a booth at the fall festival at Frisco Fresh Market. We need lots of volunteers to hand out information and goodies! Sign up here for DFW Fall Fest. Saturday, Oct. 18 - McKinney Trick or Treat Trail This is a fun family event with lots of candy and activities! Bring the family and sign up for a shift! Sign up here for McKinney Trick or Treat Trail. Oct. 24 - 26 - Boo at the Zoo We are back at our favorite community event in Fort Worth! We will have a treat station and will be handing out candy at the Fort Worth Zoo. This is a great event to get service hours and represent Cook Children’s. (Please note that this event does not allow you to bring family/kids with you to volunteer, unfortunately.) Sign up here for Boo at the Zoo. Saturday, Oct. 25 - Celina Beware of the Square This is a great family friendly event with the best trick or treat trail. We are the kids zone sponsor and will have a booth all night. Saturday, Oct. 25 - “R.I.P.” Rest in Peace Plano Trick-or-Treat Event This is a fun Halloween themed festival in downtown Plano, we need lots of volunteers to make this successful! Sign up here for R.I.P Plano event. Saturday, Nov. 8 – Windsong Fall Festival This is a fun family event in the Windsong HOA neighborhood behind the hospital.
