Nurses Week 2023 Activities
We are celebrating Nurses Week here at Cook Children’s from Monday, May 8 to Friday, May 12.
• National Nurses Day is celebrated on Saturday, May 6.
• International Nurses Day is celebrated on Friday, May 12 to honor the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

Monday
Kick off Nurses Week with a Coffee and Muffin Bar. Check out our Nurses Week Photo Op that will be available all week. Bring a friend and take pictures together. This event is for nurses only.
We want to be able to celebrate our colleagues that work throughout our System, we are offering a virtual activity each day that's just for nurses. You’ll be able to answer a trivia question via email to be entered into a large drawing at the end of the week. Each day you answer is a new entry into the drawing, so you can get up to five entries into the drawing.
The trivia question will be emailed from the Rewards and Recognition email each day and participants will respond back via email with their answers each day.
Tuesday
Nursing Grand Rounds: Join us for an exciting and impactful Pediatric Grand Rounds. Please consider attending to hear from a dynamic group of nurse scientists from Children’s Hospital of Colorado who will present the “Lived Experiences” of their pediatric nurses during the first wave of COVID. In addition to presenting their qualitative data, their work in a special art project, which will be exhibited during the presentation. Breakfast will be served.

Wednesday
Great 10 Nurse Ceremony: We will celebrate our Great 10 Nominees and Award Recipients during this ceremony. It will be livestreamed here.

Thursday
As a gift from our Nursing Administration, nurses will enjoy a breakfast burrito and a special nurse gift distribution this morning.
Enjoy food from two food trucks parked near Pruitt Street Plaza in our Fort Worth campus. We will have Funky Calavera and Wily Weiners food trucks will be here from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both food trucks will be offering a 15% discount for nurses wearing their badge. Funky Calavera will be there tonight from 8 to 10 p.m. for night shift employees. The food trucks are available to all, but the discount only applies to nurses.

Friday
Thrive Event (for nurses only): Get some love from our therapy dog Steve. If you attend, you will be able to enter into several giveaways throughout the event.
