Thank You for Weathering the Ice and Cold - Jan. 2026

Summary

If you borrowed an air mattress at the Medical Center-Fort Worth, please return it to the location you picked it up, the Employee Disaster Resource Center (EVS classroom).

This week, as snow and ice covered North Texas, your dedication to our patients and one another has shined brighter than ever. Many of you traded the comfort of your own homes and time with your families for an air mattress and sleeping bag, choosing to stay on-site to ensure our care remains uninterrupted.

Whether you were clearing icy sidewalks, preparing hot meals to keep us fueled, or providing direct patient care—thank you.

The forecast is calling for warmer temperatures in coming days and we ask you to be sure to return all air mattresses. It may be tempting to stash them away in anticipation of the next weather event, but it is important these resources be kept in a centralized location for logistical purposes.

In Fort Worth, please return air mattresses to the Employee Disaster Resource Center (EVS classroom).

In Prosper, leave air mattresses in place for the next staff member, and Environmental Services will gather them from the allocated rooms once Hero Hotel Prosper shuts down.
