Update on Aug. 22 Departmental Drill Alert

On Tuesday, Aug. 22, we were conducting a routine departmental drill meant for only our Pharmacy department at Cook Children’s Medical Center – Fort Worth. Unfortunately, the entire organization was sent alerts that this was an actual event.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we want to assure everyone this was only a drill. We also want to stress our appreciation to our PBX team who responded appropriately based on the information this team was given.

While this was a mistake, this is why we conduct drills on a frequent basis throughout the system, so we can improve our processes should an actual emergency occur.
