Update: The Latest on Merit Increases for Employees
Now that the new performance and development process has been completed, we are pleased to share that Cook Children’s executive leadership has granted merit increases that will become effective, Nov. 17, 2024, for eligible employees, and will be reflected in paychecks beginning Dec. 6, 2024. Employees will see their pay changes in Workday starting on Nov. 17. Please note that these increases are in addition to the pay adjustment that occurred in September 2024, for eligible employees.
As you may know, this year’s performance and merit processes were different than in recent years. This is because it is important to allow time and create space for employees to have conversations with their leaders that focus on accomplishments, opportunities for improvement and development, without distraction. We hope that those conversations were fruitful and that you will start the new year more focused, committed and engaged as you continue helping us deliver on our pinky promise.
Your immediate supervisor has likely already communicated your pay change, but for reference, merit increase amounts will be granted, as indicated below, for employees who were hired prior to Oct. 1, 2023. Merit increases for those hired between Oct. 1, 2023, and June 15, 2024, will be prorated. Employees hired after June 15, 2024, will be eligible for a merit increase in the following year.
