Employee Appreciation Day is March 1 and we are celebrating YOU!
Friday, March 1 is officially recognized as national Employee Appreciation Day. At Cook Children’s, we believe in the power of recognition to lift us up and help us to feel seen, heard, respected, and valued. Recognition supports our basic human needs for safety, esteem, and belonging - it‘s something we all need because it fosters personal and professional well-being. It also creates a positive feedback loop that reinforces Our Promise, Values and culture.

We encourage you to join us on March 1 in recognizing your team, colleagues and leaders who make a difference in your work each day by sharing appreciation with them. Team Shout-Outs:
Last year we invited employees to send in team shout-outs and photos to post in the Connect Newsroom. We received almost two dozen heartfelt messages from around the System!
We encourage you to send in team shout-outs this year emailing your recognition messages and photos to teamexperience@cookchildrens.org now through March 4. Those will be collected and shared on the Connect Newsroom and Team Experience Employee Appreciation Day pages the following week.
You’re the Heart of Cook Children’s Craft Activity:
We have some crafty and artistic colleagues here at Cook Children’s. This is your opportunity to connect and collaborate with your team and it only takes 3 items: paper, scissors, tape or stapler. Cut the paper into 2 strips to make a heart, then tape or staple the ends together. Add your name, something you appreciate about your team, or use your imagination to decorate your heart. You can make a chain of hearts or a wreath, then hang in your office or clinic that week. Be sure to send photos of you and your team working on the “You’re the Heart” craft to teamexperience@cookchildrens.org so we can post and share those!

Visit the new Team Experience site on new CookNet to stay up to date on the latest news for employee events and awards programs. On the main page is the 2024 Team Experience Calendar (scroll down to the bottom). This calendar includes national holidays, professional recognition days/weeks, System employee events, and more. Be sure to bookmark the page as we’ll continue to update the calendar as more 2024 event dates are finalized.
