“Your World Wednesdays:” No Meetings Wednesdays Begin April 1

Summary

Commitment: “Seeing the world through your eyes”: “We accept and value every person for who they are. We empathize with their unique circumstance and meaningfully connect so they know we’re doing our best for them.”

DSC_9735We’ve heard you loud and clear. Following the results of our recent Burnout Survey, we are implementing “No Meetings Wednesdays” throughout Cook Children’s Health Care System.

Beginning April 1, please take this opportunity to begin clearing your calendars on Wednesdays. We hope this gives you more time to focus and to provide you some relief from your very hectic schedules.

We also believe this will provide you with more opportunities to connect with your co-workers and your supervisor.

We’ve asked the leaders across the system to take Wednesdays to create “connection opportunities” in your department and work areas so that you have more face time with your supervisors and other company leaders.

Use Wednesdays to catch up, not only with your work but with your supervisors and each other. We’re calling this “Your World Wednesdays” and hope that by intentionally spending more time together, we’re all able to see the world through each other's eyes.

Mansfield Connect the Dots Feb. 2023We also encourage everyone to think of other ways to slim down your work calendar. Can you communicate with a quick email or Skype message instead of an official meeting?

Let’s look for ways to respect each other’s time, while also showing one another the kindness we all deserve. We hope you take advantage of “Your World Wednesdays” and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

As this program gets underway, we want to know what you think about it. Please share your feedback here.

Thank you.
