CareATC Can Meet Your Physical and Mental Health Needs

CareATC

Sick visits. Preventative care. Physicals. Counseling. Treatment for body aches and injuries.

You’ll find all these services and more at the CareATC clinics thanks to a partnership that provides enhanced primary care and counseling for Cook Children’s employees and their spouses and dependents ages 18 and older. Why go to CareATC for your health needs? Providers who specialize in caring for our members, quality care, convenient locations, no/low-cost care and easier appointment scheduling.

Shital Chavda, M.D., and Cassandra Muff, FNP-BC, serve patient needs at the CareATC Fort Worth-Henderson Health & Wellness Center located less than a mile from our medical center, at 500 S. Henderson St.

“We’re here to be a first point of contact for employees and their families who need or want access to dedicated medical care. As primary care providers, we take care of most individuals’ typical medical needs,” Dr. Chavda said.

“Another additional service we are proud to offer in the health center is mental health resources. Mental health is just one of those needs that often comes up when individuals work in potentially stressful environments like health care,” she said.

The providers at CareATC help treat and manage “a wide range of common medial conditions including allergies, sinus infections, high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, insomnia, urinary tract infections, reflux, skin rashes and many others,” Cassandra said. They also do gynecological exams, prostate exams, health screenings and diagnostic testing.

Any visit is 100% covered by Cook Children’s when enrolled in the HRA or EPO plans. For those enrolled in the HSA1 and HSA2 plans, the cost for a diagnostic visit is only $10. Employees not enrolled in a Cook Children’s medical plan have access to acute medical care for $10 per visit.

Work-related injuries should always be seen by Occupational Health, located at 901 7th Ave., on the corner of 7th Avenue and Terrell next to the Terrell Avenue Garage.

Providers at CareATC can assist you when you need to find care for treatments involving:

  • Management for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Chronic pain management or controlled substance prescriptions
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations and/or lengthy disability claims

Five CareATC Health & Wellness Centers are located across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. In addition to the Fort Worth-Henderson facility, others can be found in North Fort Worth, Arlington, Carrollton and Irving.

Appointments with Dr. Chavda or Cassandra can be made on the CareATC mobile app, the Patient Portal at www.careatc.com/patients, or over the phone by calling 1-800-993-8244.

EAP Counseling Services

Alicia Hooper, LCSW offers therapy at the CareATC Fort Worth-Henderson Street site through the employee assistance program at Cook Children’s. Alicia works with adults and with adolescents ages 12 and older. She also works with couples on issues such as improving communication and building trust. New clients are welcome.

Cook Children’s employees may access six free counseling appointments with Alicia per year per issue (grief etc.). Fifteen-minute consultations help Alicia understand a client’s needs before scheduling a therapy session. Regular sessions are 50 minutes in length.  Virtual appointments are available.

“Solution-focused brief therapy tries to be intentional and specific,” she said. “It's a lot about mindfulness and working toward your own treatment goal and recognizing yourself as the expert in your life. All of those things fit perfectly in line with a six-session time limit.”

Alicia’s in-person hours mimic the CareATC clinic’s hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays. Make an appointment by calling the EAP main phone number, 1-800-395-1616.
