 Remembering Nelson Ku: New Cook Children’s Asthma Clinic Named in Honor of Fort Worth Boy Who Loved Laughter
Take a moment to read our story on Nelson Ku, the late son of Peter Ku, D.D.S., a long-time Fort Worth dentist and a member of the Board of Trustees for Cook Children’s Health Care System. Nelson, who died when he was just 11 from an asthma attack, is being honored with the naming of our new asthma clinic. Click here to read about his beautiful life |

 Collaborating for Las Vegas Trail Families
Cook Children's joined with area partners at a massive back-to-school event hosted by LVTRise, which supports efforts to improve the lives of residents in the Las Vegas Trail area. The event was a collaboration between LVTRise, Cook Children's, and UNT Health Science Center, and provided school backpacks, essential supplies, and physicals to 440 community members, including 295 children. All items and services were provided at no cost to the attendees. For our part, Cook Children's provided 104 immunizations to 50 children and teens. We were able to connect families to our new Las Vegas Trail Neighborhood Health Center and provide opportunities for their children to have a medical home.  Flu Vaccines 2025: Onsite Flu Fairs Start on Sept. 15
You must get your flu vaccine by the Oct. 17 deadline. Please complete your employee influenza electronic consent form on the Enterprise Health portal by Sept. 16. We will be offering several on-site Flu Vaccine Fairs, at which employees can drop in without an appointment for their vaccine. Click here to see the list of this year's fairs. |

 New Dillard Garden Sidewalk Access Available
As you make your way across the Fort Worth campus, please be aware of a new sidewalk that has been installed in the Dillard Garden. Sidewalks on both sides of Seventh Avenue between Cooper Street and Terrell Avenue are closed due to West Tower construction. Don't forget to check the Construction page on the Cook Children's website often for major street closures, pedestrian sidewalk closures and any potential reroutes. To ensure a smooth journey, it is highly recommended to plan ahead for your commute and allow extra time to reach your destination and report for your shift at your scheduled time. |

 Our Pet-scription for Happiness
When we leave our Cook Children's campus, our pets may be the ones who greet us when we get home. Each week, we're showcasing all the pets who make us better humans, with videos featuring photos of pets that have been submitted by you, Cook Children's employees. We will be posting these videos periodically, so if you do not see your pet right away, they will be showcased in a later video. Help us show some love to our furry friends at home.
