mycookchildrens app imageNew and Improved MyCookChildren's Mobile App Launches Feb. 8

We live in a time where convenience is no longer a luxury, but a requirement. And that’s especially true when it comes to our children’s health care.

That’s why Cook Children’s enhanced the MyCookChildren’s app to build off the foundation of the existing portal, while improving the user experience. The app goes live Feb. 8, 2022.

While the app provides new access for parents, they will be happy to see all the current easy-to-use features they are already familiar with on MyCookChildren’s. Features like:

  • Accessing their child’s immunization records;
  • Reviewing summaries from their child’s primary and specialty care visits;
  • Receiving test results;
  • Scheduling and viewing upcoming appointments;
  • Arranging for virtual health visits from the comfort of their own home;
  • Confirming and updating patient information before appointments, minimizing a parent’s time in our office;
  • Having direct communication with their child’s care team;
  • Handling medicine refill requests;
  • And much more!

Click here for more details and to watch a tutorial from Zach Beggs, digital products manager, as he walks you through some of the new features.

Jill Koss ImageJill Koss Honored By Garth Brooks for Child Life Zone Work

She’s got friends in high places! Jill Koss, director of Family Support Services, received a special surprise from the one and only Garth Brooks to celebrate her work with the Child Life Zone.

Jill attended an event to show her support for Teammates for Kids, a non-profit organization supported by Garth Brooks and Troy Aikman that helps to establish Child Life Zones across the country. Little did she know that when she arrived, that the night was actually to honor her.

Watch the country music superstar honor Jill in this emotional video.

Time and time again, you all go above and beyond for Our Promise. Your dedication and perseverance was put on display once again this week as severe winter weather hit North Texas.

In anticipation of the snow and ice, we opened “Hotel Cook” to provide a safe and secure place for staff to sleep and avoid dangerous travel to and from work. Cots and air mattresses were distributed to employees to sleep on in offices or in vacant hospital rooms at our medical center.

A Texas-sized thank you to everyone who cleared the streets and sidewalks on campus, prepared warm meals and hot coffee, addressed all the weather impacts, all the while caring for our patients and families.

Take a look at some of the photos from the snow and Hotel Cook!

Fort Worth First Responders DayInaugural Fort Worth First Responders Day

It's been almost one year since six people died in a tragic pileup involving more than 130 vehicles on I-35. Our city's first responders, including our very own Cook Children's employees, rose to meet the challenge and displayed tremendous strength and courage.

To celebrate these amazing men and women, February 11 will be recognized as “Fort Worth First Responders Day.” The community is planning to create Hero Packs for first responder sites across the city.  Click here to learn more about the event.

We are so thankful for each and every one of you!
