You Have the Power Through Collibra

What do you call a strong information foundation? A data-base! Beginning April 30, Cook Children’s will have exactly that with the introduction of the Collibra Data Catalog.

Collibra Data Catalog is a centralized search tool for discovering and understanding the data assets used across Cook Children’s. It provides documented, searchable information about our reports, dashboards, and data sources.

What Can You Do with It?

• Search for all Epic reports, dashboards, and data sources in one place.
• Understand where data originates and how it flows into the assets you use.

The Collibra Data Catalog is available to all staff. Currently, Epic reports and PowerBI reports are available in Collibra. Simply, with Collibra, you can find what you need and trust what you see. Access the Collibra Data Catalog here and understand how to us it with this tip sheet.

Introducing Supplier Invoice Requests

Say goodbye to paper check requests. The Accounts Payable check request process will be moved into Workday on Tuesday, May 5. The manual Word form for check requests is officially retiring. The new process will be migrated into Workday for faster processing and real-time tracking. Look for the new "Supplier Invoice Request" task in your Workday search bar next month.

Beth Deen Named Prestigious Fellow of ASPEN

Beth Deen, PharmD, BCPPS, BCNSP, was named a Fellow of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, a prestigious national honor recognizing those who have significant clinical contributions and their commitment to the field.

Community Health Workers Expand

Did you know that the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce - including an additional three CWH instructors - has expanded from 76 to 86 team members in this year alone? This reflects our commitment not only to community-centered care and health equity, but to expanding training and professional development opportunities for staff.

Cook Children’s Health Plan and the Center for Community Health (C4CH) sponsored community health worker awareness week activities with events including an appreciation luncheon and a training session on hypertension that drew 50 people. This week, it was announced that the Health Plan and C4CH are applying to become a Texas Department of State Health Services approved community health worker continuing education training site.

Plan to Vote: Upcoming Elections

The current election year includes important local, state and federal elections. Cook Children’s encourages you to exercise your rights and participate in upcoming local and state elections. As a health care system, we have team members in many different cities, counties and districts with different timelines and requirements.

Planning your vote To make sure you are ready, check your registration status and confirm your polling location. Because election rules vary by county, the best way to get accurate information is through your local election board or trusted nonpartisan resources like Your Guide to Voting in Texas | VoteTexas.gov.

Taking a few minutes now to identify the dates for the last day to register, early voting times frames, and Election Day poll hours helps ensure your voice is heard.

Making time to vote Ensure your work schedule doesn’t get in the way of your ability to participate by coordinating with your manager ahead of time so you can get it on the calendar.

It is important that we all have the opportunity to engage with our communities and fulfill our civic duty.
