Directions on How to Enable Wi-Fi Calling
For Android Users
To turn off cellular service (mobile data):
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Next to your carrier, tap Settings.
- Turn Mobile data on or off
To enable Wi-Fi calling, go to:
- Settings
- Phone
- Wi-Fi Calling
For iPhone Users
Use a mobile carrier’s Wi-Fi calling on iPhone:
- From Home screen, click Settings icon.
- Select Cellular
- Tap the Cellular Data switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off
How to turn on Wi-Fi calling for your iPhone
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Phone > Wi-Fi Calling
- Switch the Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone slider to On
- You'll see a warning about location data and what your carrier collects.
- Tap Enable to turn on Wi-Fi Calling
If Wi-Fi Calling is available, you’ll see "Wi-Fi" in the status bar while viewing Control Center. Then your calls will use Wi-Fi Calling.
You may need to enter or confirm your address for emergency services.
When cellular service is available, your iPhone uses it for emergency calls. If you turn on Wi-Fi Calling and cellular service isn't available, emergency calls might use Wi-Fi calling. Your device's location may be used to aid response efforts when you place an emergency call, regardless of whether you enable Location Services.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Individuals who have never used Wi-Fi calling before may experience a gateway error message.
- Please keep trying to reconnect as connections are congested at the moment.
- Not all devices and/or cellular plans are compatible with Wi-Fi calling. Click HERE for a list with more info on device availability.
