Message from Health Plan President Karen Love: Update on The Texas Tribune Article

Dear Health Plan Team Members,

I wanted to provide you with an update on my message from Monday.

This morning, The Texas Tribune published the article I mentioned, and it details HHSC’s decision to exclude Cook Children’s Health Plan and other plans across the state from the new STAR/CHIP managed care contract.

Please reference the Member talking points from Monday’s email and these talking points for our physicians and other Health Plan network providers.

Please know that we are committed to taking care of you, and are doing everything we can to overturn this decision to keep the Health Plan strong so we can continue serving our Members. We will work diligently to answer any questions you may have. Please direct questions to Internal Communications or leave a comment below. We'll update our FAQ document as we receive answers.

We are resilient, and I’m grateful for everything you are doing to take care of our Members, their families and each other.
