We’re pleased to recognize Cook Children's Rheumatology for receiving the Practice Our Promise Gold Award for their achievement of the highest Likelihood to Recommend (LTR) score for specialty clinics. The LTR score represents patient experience and trust, reflecting the confidence our patients place in the care provided by the clinic staff.

Winning the Practice Our Promise Gold Award highlights the high-quality patient experience among the clinic’s patients and their eagerness to recommend the clinic to others.

Betty Stroud, Practice Administrator, shares insight into how the clinic prioritizes patient experience. “Delivering patient and family focused care is a priority of each of our team members,” Stroud explains. “I see this every day in the quality services that are provided, the kindness and respect shown by meeting the patient and family where they’re at.”

Cook Children’s Rheumatologist Maria Perez, M.D. emphasizes the personalized approach to patient care, “Patients are ensured that they will receive a thoughtful and personal plan of care from the first time they walk through the door until when they go to college or graduate high school. We take great pride in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together for logical, effective plan of care.”

Just as every piece of a puzzle holds significance, every aspect of rheumatologic care is critical - from the more common, such as arthritis, to the rare autoimmune diseases, such as lupus. This makes it important for physicians and staff to have specialized expertise in ways to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life for their patients.

To understand the significance of this achievement, it's essential to consider the broader context of Cook Children's commitment to excellence in patient care.

“At Cook Children’s, we have high patient experience scores across the board,” Robert Goodwill, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cook Children's Physician Network shared at their celebratory luncheon. “So, to consistently stand out like they have, it really tells the story of the care they provide.”
