Practice Our Promise Silver: Cook Children's Pain Management

GEP_7177

We’re excited to recognize Cook Children's Pain Management for receiving the Practice Our Promise Silver Award for their achievement of the second-highest Likelihood to Recommend (LTR) score for specialty clinics. The LTR score represents patient experience and trust, reflecting the confidence our patients place in the care provided by the Pain Management staff.

Winning the Practice Our Promise Silver Award highlights the clinic’s high-quality patient experience and the patients’ eagerness to recommend the clinic to others.

Bethany Hooper, Practice Administrator, shares insight into how the clinic prioritizes patient experience. “The Pain Management team is extremely collaborative. They truly believe in treating the whole patient and ensuring lifestyle changes are in place to optimize care from their mental and emotional health needs to their physical pain treatments.”

Cook Children’s Pain Management Physician Meredith Brooks, M.D., MPH echoes the all-encompassing approach to patient care, “We attack pain from many different angles. We look at pain psychology, at non-medication ways of managing pain, and to see if there are any interventions or procedures that could be helpful.” She continues, “It's about focusing in on where the patient is right now and helping them and their parent move in the direction that they want to go.”

Patient-centered care is at the center of everything the Neurosciences department does. Dr. Brooks continues to outline how this philosophy is integrated into her practice.

“We can't help but be patient centered. It encompasses everything that we do. The entire neurosciences department focuses on patient satisfaction and patient quality and patient care, and everybody wants the patient to have an excellent experience,” says Dr. Brooks. “From medical assistants to the front desk staff, to schedulers, everybody is valuable to the patient's experience.”

Artee Gandhi, M.D., Medical Director Pain Management, further emphasizes their dedication to providing compassionate, comprehensive health care. “Each member of the pain management team offers a unique perspective to patient care and contributes valuable therapeutic strategies. We recognize that pain management is about partnering with our patients and families to create a plan that works best for them.”

Their dedication to patient care has not only earned the department awards but, more importantly, the trust and confidence of patients. As the team continues to bring innovative therapies to our communities and put the well-being of patients first, we can't wait to learn more about their pain management advancements in the future!
