System-Wide COVID-19 Update: All Employees Should Wear Face Masks Indoors

community level high COVID

COVID-19 cases are on the rise and this week, Tarrant County Public Health moved the community spread level to High. As of Thursday, July 7, the percent positivity at Cook Children's for outpatients is 20% and 14% for inpatients. Our main priority remains the safety of you and our patient families.

In an effort to protect our staff, we are reverting to our former policy that masks be worn at all times in all Cook Children's locations, regardless of vaccination status, unless

  • You are eating or drinking while keeping proper social distancing.
  • You are at your workspace, 6 feet apart from your colleagues.

We are all in this together and we ask that you take these precautions seriously to protect one another and reduce the spread of COVID. Wearing face masks also keeps our workforce healthy and avoids putting more strain on employees and departments that would be greatly impacted by 5-day quarantine rules.

It is all of our responsibilities to keep each other safe. Please review the mask, meetings, visitors and travel updates here.

We will continue to monitor community spread and evaluate when we can change back. Thank you for your cooperation!
