Open Enrollment is Underway
Open enrollment for the 2022-2023 benefits year is now in progress through Aug. 19, allowing employees at Cook Children's to update their benefits elections and change their participation in health savings accounts, PTO sellback and more. You can enroll by going online or by calling 833-251-9455. Elections and/or changes will go into effect on Oct. 1. What's new this year? No premium increases. All employee contributions, including those for medical, dental and vision, will remain unchanged. |
ID&E Task Force Sets Foundation for a More Diversified Cook Children’s
“Having this task force is nothing short of monumental,” said Wini King, senior vice president and chief communication and ID&E officer. “It’s taken several months to get the right balance of team members representing all parts of the system but we were able to do it. I’m more than grateful that these employees understand the importance of doing this work and how an inclusive environment benefits everyone.” Over the past few months, the task force has spent about 15 hours together pouring through data, sharing workplace experiences, and having hard conversations about diversity within the organization. Beat the Heat Treat! Summer Event for Employees
For those on-site at certain locations, employees will enjoy a scoop of their favorite flavor of ice cream. Ice cream will be served outside and we’ll follow Command Center guidelines for safety and distancing. Dates and times are listed here. For off-site locations and 100% remote teams, we’re providing an Inter-Department Transfer (IDT) amount of $8 per person for a summer treat! |

Compared to 2021, the department has responded to a 704% increase in grassfires since July 5. “We work alongside one another to keep our community safe, especially for our patients. They do a lot for us throughout the year and this is a great opportunity, just a small gesture, to try to return that favor,” said Kaysey Pollan, director of Emergency Management at Cook Children's. |

Cook Children's employees donated cases of water and sports drinks on Thursday, July 28 to the Fort Worth Fire Department as crews continue battling fires in the dry, hot weather.
